Mary DeFreitas is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Crystal Run Healthcare. Ms. DeFreitas is a graduate of Pace University in Pleasantville, NY, where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. Ms. DeFreitas holds her Masters of Professional Studies in Humanistic Education from SUNY New Paltz. Ms. DeFreitas is also a graduate of Leadership Orange, class of 2002.
Ms. DeFreitas joined Crystal Run Healthcare in 2002 as Director of Human Resources and was promoted to Administrator of Human Resources in 2006. In 2009, Ms. DeFreitas was promoted to her current executive position as Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, Ms. DeFreitas provides leadership, management and support of all the practice’s human resources needs. Areas of leadership include employee management, training and development, employee relations, recruitment, selection and retention, as well as compensation and benefits for over 2,200 employees of the practice. Ms. DeFreitas has been a member of the Orange County Workforce Investment Board since 2003.
Prior to joining Crystal Run Healthcare, Ms. DeFreitas held multiple positions within human resources with Arden Hill Senior Health Center/Elant in Goshen, NY, including Staff Development Coordinator as well as Director of Human Resources, where she directed the day- to-day human resource operations for the multi-site healthcare system.
Ms. DeFreitas is married to James DeFreitas and they reside in Campbell Hall with their sons, Justin and Eric. Their daughter resides in New Paltz. In her free time, Ms. DeFreitas enjoys gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.
